I will be sure to share your feedback with our housekeeping staff and use it as a learning experience for the future. We pride ourselves in the thoroughness of our housekeeping staff and cleanliness of our guestrooms and it is very disappointing to see that we did not live up to our own standards. I would like to extend a heartfelt apology after learning that both of your rooms had unacceptable housekeeping issues. Our fruit and veggie smoothies, as well as our recently implemented fruit and yogurt parfaits, have been breakfast staples that our guests seem to really enjoy. I thank you for highlighting the aspects of your time at The Zen that you did like, such as our complimentary in-room snacks and full breakfast buffet. We understand that delivering a restful night’s sleep is a main priority of any overnight hotel stay and I regret that we did not achieve that on this occasion. I apologize that the softness of our pillow-top mattresses, coupled with the noise from your neighbor diminished the quality of your sleep, and consequentially your overall enjoyment. It is unfortunate to learn that we did not meet expectations by providing satisfactory experience on all levels. Overall, given the obscene rates hotels in Palo Alto charge these days, I am willing to give The Zen a second shot the next time I'm in the area.ĭear JeffP2, Thank you for sharing your feedback on your recent stay with us. The Zen needs to raise their standards in that department. I'm pretty tolerant, but I had two different rooms during my stay and found a wrapper on the floor in one and a long hair in the tub (definitely not mine) in the other. Unfortunately, the eggs appeared to be made from powder, but that was the only nit I will pick about the breakfast. On the plus side, there was a nice assortment of free snacks in the room, and the free breakfast was a step above what you'd get at a Hampton Inn: yogurt-fruit parfaits, fruit smoothies, salsa for your eggs. I could hear someone snoring in the room next to me. Consequently the walls between the rooms are not very thick or well insulated. This looks to be a refurbished 1960s era motel. This "hotel" is really a "motel" using my definition of the latter which is "room doors open to the outdoors". I'm not a fan of soft, soft beds where you feel like you are sinking four or five inches into the mattress, so I did not like the beds at The Zen.
